About

Kelly Barry

Kelly pursued the animal science pathway at Conrad High School of Science, having received certificates of excellence and graduating valedictorian in 2021. As of 2024, she graduated as Magna Cum Laude with an Associate Degree of Nursing from Delaware Technical Community College. Having received her professional license as a RN, she is continuing her education with enrollment in Deltech's BSN program.

Kelly's passion for horses all began as a two-year-old with a bay pony at the Delaware State Fair. Ever since her first pony ride, she's been hooked! Having grown up on a hay-and-straw farm in Middletown, DE, she was able to work at stables from the time she was eight to secure time in the saddle. Her junior years were spent dabbling in the hunter/jumper, Pony Club and eventing worlds until dressage came into the picture. She has spent time as a working student at a smaller Warmblood breeding operation where she acquired her 2021 GOVxPRE colt. She has experience starting young horses, running local dressage shows and horse management to suit a variety of horse, owner and discipline-based needs.

Kelly has taken residency at Scotchmans Glen Gypsies in Earleville, MD as of late 2022. During her time with the Bakers, she has started and developed their herd of unique horses for success in the show ring. Their program consists of local dressage and hunter shows, USDF-recognized dressage shows, Gypsy breed shows and other activities. Kelly still prioritizes her continuing education by lessoning, attending clinics with various instructors and seeking resources on all things horsemanship. She intends on working towards her USDF Rider Medals within the coming seasons.

As of August 2025, Kruse Equestrian has expanded to a primary location in Earleville, MD, now offering client and training board options.
